I've always read about the importance of being creative, to have imagination. However, during my years at school I've realized they are not caring about this issue. In fact, they are deleting it with the time. Why? I ask. As I see it, due to Government interest. We have a school which is working as a factory, as Francesco Tonucci shows on this picture

School as a factory |
We've always thought that this subjects were as the less important subjects we could have at school. Nevertheless, as I see it, there are the most important subjects we can have. It's because this subjects achieve a different development of children minds. I mean, maybe we are not learning when the Second War was, but we're learning how to be free in the future: developing our own ideas and not only what books say. In fact, if we use this subjects with the perspective of some authors, we'll have really good pupils on the classroom with really good ideas. However, we only make them color some drawings killing their imagination and their creativity. As Ken Robinson (2013) says on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46Fc6qFxt44 education system is killing creativity. I've chose this video because I think it shows what education system is: a factory to create people for their interest. During this Practicum I've seen how children don't know how to create for themselves. They always need a guide and it's not good for them. It's due to this issue, we're encouraging the deleting of art or music without know there are really important four our hide curriculum. It's not only a matter of califications, it's a matter of open our minds.
When you are being oppresed by the Government, you can do two things: fight for what you want or be settle and loose what you deserve. With our actual education system we're creating a settle society. Paulo Freire (1970) said a quote which I consider really important "con la palabra el hombre se hace hombre" and, how I understand that, the conversation makes the teacher be not only a guide who achieve that pupils memorice everything, it's a person who causes that children have a critical mind. It's also a way to makes the teacher learn because when pupils show their creations, we're learning new ways to understand something and we're improving how person.
One of the author who talk about this issue is Ken Robinson talks about the importance of creativity and not to be exactly how your classmate is. It's too a problem of "be the same". As I see it, it's an error. We're not the same, everybody has a different perspective of the reality. María Acaso (2009) shows it really good on her book when she's talking about the hide curriculum "la información se puede transmitir de dos maneras: a través de un discurso explícito o evidente y a través de un discurso implícito, es decir, oculto" (Pag. 55) The first thing which art do is create an creative perspective on children mind. Nevertheless, it isn't the same in every child: everybody creates their own perspective of what are they seeing.
As I said before, in art we can talk about the different perspective of the same thing. You can transmit different feelings on your creation and someone will understand your artwork completely different as you. It's the best of creativity: it hasn't got only a view, it has got million views. Here we are another important thing to live on society, we're not going to think the same as our friends or our family, but we must respect what they think. Creativity makes you feel you will think what you want and other person think another completly different thing but it doesn't matter.
If we delete this subject from schools, we're deleting too our freedoom. In a couple of years, we're going to have a society who thinks the same, do the same and feel the same due to what education has said you have to think, feel or see. In fact, creativity is not only a issue of school: it's too an outdoor issue. When we delete our imagination or creativity, we're decreasing our ways to deal with different situations. For example, if we had a problem, we tried to ask someone how to deal with this trouble. But, what will happen if we have to think by ourselves? We will be a dependent person and it's the worst thing you'll be. For this reason, and after read a lot about the importance of creativity on society, I think we should encourage teacher not to get away the art in schools. If we have one subject where we can think and create by ourselves, we must fight for it because it's the only thing will be us at school. Our identity starts at school, if we let them create what they want, we all are going to be the same in a few years, living how they want to live and doing what they want us to do.
To sum up, I would like to insist on the importance of change our actual law, the LOMCE. I've been doing this Practicum and also other tasks where I've realized it don't take care about the children necessities. I want to finish saying education system must be to society and not for Government.
